I just installed this kit from Progressive today. Dropped it a full 2" and put in heavy duty fork oil.
I'm looking at the clearance from the top of the fender to the underside of the fairing and I'm a little concerned. I only have 2.5" clear. Anybody drop it the full 2"? My bike is a 2007 FLHTCUI. I don't wanna trash my fender. How much travel will I actually have left. Any help????
well i just installed it on my 2009 road king yesterday. i did not want the full inch drop i wanted an inch. which i think there directions for our touring models suck! any who i measured the thickness of the two spacer washers took that diffrence off an inch and thats what i cut my pvc spacer too. put the kit in with type E oil and crossed my fingers as i lowered my bike as i did not wanna tear it apart again. All turned out well. i will try to measure my clearance's for ya today but took it out yesterday to try to hit pot holes and seemed well. i had just installed a 21/18 setup and the lowering kit made a worlds of diffrence for the better.
my signiture pic is with the lowering kit.

I have a 07 sg and i lowered mine all 2". The fender will not hit the fairing. There a bump stops in the fork. When you put the two springs in from progressive the little flat spring is what lowers the bike. The compression point is still the same as when they were stock.

How much room do you have from the top of the fender to the underside of the fairing? I have 2.5"

This is exactly what I did, except I used the SE "Heavy" fork oil. How do you like it with the Type "E" oil? Has the brake dive been reduced? I am thinking of trying a lighter fork oil to smooth out the ride, but do not want the excessive brake dive it had when stock.
