Usually not but if I am coming to the end of a long trip and can be home by 2 or 3 am then I sometimes just ride on in. It is bad to ride when exhausted so if I am already feeling tired around sundown then I will call it a day.
Where I ride deer are very numerous after dark so a slower speed is called for. An advantage to riding at night in the summer is that it is so much cooler. However,unfortunately along with that the bugs are much worse after dark.
Done it few times starting 3to4 AM is my favorite but dusk time it's little hard. Only coming home I pushed it few times but like to end my day by no later than 5 PM got to have some BEER time.
