Slow speed is always tougher, and another 150-200# sitting up higher than you doesn't help. Last year I figured out why coming to a stop almost made me feel a little wobbly 2 up, not quite dumping it though. Gripping the right brake lever harder just before a stop caused me to pull the bar just a bit to the right. Just enough to wobble the bike. I found just the slightest push to the left evened it out perfectly
It's more work for everyone, don't let them tell you otherwise. I remind my wife to keep her head behind mine and if she has to squirm or move around to do it while we're at speed. If you can get her to stay centered and still at slow speeds it helps. Also, plan ahead a little more so you don't end up all bijigitty at the last moment. Other than that you can put a solo seat on your scoot.
IMO the worst part is the passenger (lol duh) if they are a good passenger they make it easy if there not well you know what happens. I haul my wife sometimes she fights the bike ( leans out when i go in a turn because im hammering it lol ) BUT she is a much better passenger now when she gets on mine since she rides her own. My daughter you never know shes on the bike one of the best riders i ever hauled.
Just some FYI check out the ride like a pro videos it helps a ton with low speed riding
The hardest part of riding 2 up for me is when the Warden, decides to start squirming when splitting traffic cause she thinks her knees are gonna get taken out. I'm used to the hollering now though
Take it for what it is worth...I have trained many in this maneuver and nearly ever time I watch them, they are looking down at there stop point...Keep your head up ~ no no see you looked down again ~ keep it up and success will soon be found...in other words you already saw your stop point 50 feet before you got there...trust your instincts they normally work well for the average everyday rider. oop you kooked down again. STOP IT
