I test rode a Cross Country last Saturday and I liked it. Of course I'm used to an 11 yo FLHT right now in comparison. I should ride a new Street Glide sometime to get a real feal for the difference. I would probably put some Ricor or Ohlins shocks on either one before I did anything else though.
SEMPER FI Brother! Welcome home!
You know, If you had bought the Vision, you would NEVER be able to call a Road Glide "Fugly" again,, cause that bike has to be the ugliest bike I have ever seen.
I saw a picture of one along side a picture of Bozo the Clown once on here I think. AND the comparison was REMARKABLE! LOL
Ooohrah brother! Good write up and glad you found the right ride for you. I have always wondered about the V, but then I get on my Ultra and I can't remember what I was thinking. Ride Safe!
Thanks for all the replies. I thought I should do this write up as I figure there might be others out there wondering the same thing and perhaps thinking of the same issues in contemplating a new bike. As someone pointed out the Victory did add more leg room right off, and that is true....however the SG I found had a Corbin touring seat which seemed to raise me up as well as set me back a little further on the bike. That in addition to the custom handlebars really made the SG fit me like no other bike I've ever sat on. Anyway, thanks again and to the Victory riders out there I'm glad you enjoy your product...at least its American made!!!
