Hey Joe, were you at Cherahala Harley yesterday? I saw a Vision there just like the one in your pic. Sound pretty good when the guy left.
No sir, I was busy taking care of family business...WOuld have loved to been out riding but I have to take care of family first, riding second...But that is a favorite road of mine...Hope to see you around...Ride safe!
This guy didn't look ashamed to be riding an American built Motorcycle. In fact some of the folks in our group thought it looked pretty cool. I know it's not a Harley, But then again I don't judge the Motorcycle, I judge the person. I've met some guy's who own Harley's, I wouldn't want to ride with. I know this is a HD forum.
It doesn't matter to me what he rides. There is no such thing as an "American made" vehicle anymore, 2 or 4 wheels, and that includes Harley Davidson. Harley owners are some of, if not the most, brand loyal consumers in America. I'm not talking about the yuppies who went out and bought a H-D because it seemed like the "in thing" to do. Thanks to them, there are loads of affordable Harleys out there 3-5 years old with less than 5000 mile on them. So, when one comes on a "HD Forum" with Victory for a sig pic, there is gonna be some backlash, pissing contest, flaming, whatever you wish to call it. Most of it is harmless ribbing. Roll with it!
Oh.......... for all you Victory enthusiasts, here is your house- www.victoryforums.com
Hell I had my bike for less than 2 months and already spent 4 grand on wheels, tires, exhaust and extras, the other half does get un-nerved at the money I will drop on it.
I rarely get tired of the spending, but I wish I had more time to do it. Besides riding, it is one of the great pleasures of my life..Making it 'mine'. It not as much about what it needs as what I want...I do the same to an extent with my cage also...an 05 325i I can't get enough of...
I only make a few alterations a year, just so there is something different about the bike each riding season. I'm careful not to over do it though, so to keep the look of the cycle per my liking. I've seen too many Harleys where it looked like its owner just added things without having a vision in mind of what the bike should look like. Do I tired of it? No, it's the next best thing to riding it.
Not really because I have found that is half the fun of owning a Harley - making it your own.
While I'm getting real close to pretty much done with all the changes I want on my Road King, I had a good - if pricey - time getting there, and now I joy both riding, and just staring at it in my garage.
This is especially true now that I'm getting older, having some problems with my back and leg, don't ride as much as I used to, but don't want to give up motorcycles.
When I was into race replicas, it was pretty much all about just riding - usually all out because it is hard to go slow on those freaking things - and not much else. There is just so much customization you can do to the looks of a fully faired bike.
Nowadays, I can relax on my rides, enjoy the scenery instead of a blur, and show up on a bike that both riders and non-riders like to look at and talk about.
Hell, there are some days I swear I am more excited about the UPS guy showing up than whether I go riding or not.
I know ... I'm pathetic.
Sounds to me like you get it...I don't think you're pathetic at all. just as self improvement is a never ending process (or should be) my scooter is always a work in progress.
I don't think the original poster really cares...he just wanted to post a pic of his victory and get flamed (some people's kids huh?).
I'm waiting for the mail guy right now!!! The only place where you and I differ...is that I enjoy riding my scooter above tinkering with it. For me...riding my harley is the difference between having to go somewhere....and getting to go somewhere!!!
-clutch-
P.S. Now the ol' lady would reply a little differently...she has to act as guard dog & keep me from dumping every spare penny we get into my scoot!!! LMAO
Don't mind spending money, just hate being broke all the time.
Every last dime i have is spent on upgrades or gas. The way i look at it, i work hard all year so i should be able to enjoy the little extra cash i have and it should be spent on whatever i want. Can't think of anything better.
