the only time I get tired of it is after I dropped a bunch of money getting things ready, last minute before a road trip something breaks. Or, having to pay dealer prices for things out on the road when work needs to be done.
$100.00 oil change? What are you putting in my bike? GOLD?
I wasnt thrilled about spending $100 bucks on parts to rebuild my S&S this weekend either, but since I have never gone through it since owning the bike for 3 years, I couldnt really be made about the intake leak.
I do get surprised how fast it can add up though.. Hmm.. I dont remember spending $800 on powerdercoat, woah, were those SE gauges really $600? How am I going to get this $500.00 Roland Sands air cleaner on? heh.. And now, after seeing the new V&H Pro 2/1 black ceramic.... I gotta find another $700.00.
Sounds to me like you get it...I don't think you're pathetic at all. just as self improvement is a never ending process (or should be) my scooter is always a work in progress ...
... Now the ol' lady would reply a little differently...she has to act as guard dog & keep me from dumping every spare penny we get into my scoot!!! LMAO
I finally learned to just order the damn parts and take the abuse from my wife later when she sees another charge on the card ...
On a different note ... I've taken some not so friendly abuse from my former sport bike buds lately and I gotta tell ya I'm getting a little sick of it.
I have never gotten so attached to a bike like this Road King and I buy all sorts of stuff for my bike because I love my Harley.
That's what they don't get, and they even refer to their bikes as "just a tool" or "just a machine" - easily replaced with the next cookie cutter model.
I dunno which is dumber - me adding another chrome doodad so I can be happier just cruising along, or them adding carbon fiber wheels so they ride even more recklessly and buzz guys on Harleys - like me!
Like no sh-- your sport bike is faster. I used to own them.
