Default Ultra Question

Well I went to AZ bike Week on Thursday and took out an Ultra for a spin. I find it to be a very nice bike.

I was actually looking to get the Road King but none were brought to AZ bike week to Demo and the HD people selected the Ultra as the closest fit to the RK

My question with all the electronics right there in the dash fully exposed, did you ever have people mess with it or try to steal it or even purposely damage it ?

Do you ever worry about leaving it in a parking lot mall or going to a bike night or any other rally and leaving it unattended ?

Thanks

Marty

I've never had a problem leaving my Ultra anywhere. If I'm overnight in a motel, I put a half cover on it and lock it up. If a thief wants it they would need four or five strong guys or a fork lift. If they go to that much trouble then I have insurance...

Ditto the above. I seem to remember reading the Canadian Insurance numbers which show that sports bikes and BMW are stolen more frequently that Harley's. I know the insurance costs dont reflect that statement but i suspect the real cost is more about what the market will bare.

NEVER even think about it..
Most people dont fug with motorcycles.
I mean some might but generally no.
AND what can they mess with anyway? You need to take the fairing off to
get at those electronics! What else is there? Switches and buttons...

In 45 years of riding, I've never had anyone mess with my motorcycle. I usually leave my helmet on a mirror even. That said, if I'm parking in an area that looks high crime, I lock everything up. But, never has anyone vandalized or tried to rip off things from it.

Now that I've said that, someone will prove me wrong.

The saddle bags are pretty easy to remove even if locked. But I have never had any problems.

+1... I've found this to work GREAT! I have a cheap $20.00 cover that I used stenceles to spray "Honda Ace" on...use on every overnight/vacation motel/hotel stay & NEVER a problem! Is it because of that?... I don't know ...Will I continue to use it? YOU BET!! Now you have to keep in mind, I'm in CA!! A buddy had his helmet, gloves & riding glasses stolen off his handlebars @ the local HD dealer while we were inside! I can't wait to move back to ID!!!
