Bizzy day on the RK...
One of my brothers is still undecided about riding my '07 RKC or my younger brother's '03 Heritage on our SW RoadTrip next month. We rode them last Saturday and all swapped around on the 3 styles (Touring, Softie, Dyna). He liked the bars and seat of the Softie, the 6-speed, floorboards, and cruise control of the RKC.
Well, I've been holding off doing some mods to the RKC until he tried it stock, but in light of his preferences of last week, today I got busy. First, I swapped the stock bars for a set of Heritage style bars I'd picked up for $10. Also tightened up a loose stem-nut while I had the nacelle off. Then I added the Sundowner I've had for a few weeks. Took off the heel shift lever and raised the toe lever. Added Airfoil Highway pegs to the crashbar for an alternate foot position on the long ride. Found a hot accessory connector in the front loom for his GPS, and broke it out to a usable position for a bar mount. Also gonna let him try out the adj. rider backrest.
Long day; going to bed to grab a nap before work at 11pm. We're going riding again tomorrow to see if his choice will be made easier by my efforts of today.
