First off thanks to everyone on this forum. If it were not for this place and its members I would not even be attempting this. Tonight was day one of the 16" Carlini Gangster Apes install. Only had a couple of hours to spend on it so I didnt get to far. Got the nacelle off and all wires free from the molex connectors (PITA). Took off the left side controlls and will do the right tomorrow and hope to get the wires all soldered and ran through the bars tomorrow. We will see? If anyone has any tips or pointers that would be great. I have been looking at this link http://www.moccsplace.com/images/harley/hbar/hbar.htm that was suggested by another member and it has helped alot. If anyone has a better thread on one they think would help that would be great. Anyway, here is a before and during, I will keep them coming..
manhattan, man when i got back from the 'nam that's where i got stationed, ft riley. you're doing a great job with the bars. keep it going, you'll have her done soon.
Cut the conduit off about 4 inches out of the controls. Stagger your solder joints, run the wires long and pull them through the bars before cutting them to length and installing the new connectors. Slip the cut off conduit back on the wires coming out of the bars.
Ya needed one of these to disassemble the Molex connector, makes it a breeze!
