Default Race Tuner Needed?????

Lets start out with a prelude. I own a 2009 Street Glide (stock) and I am in the middle of replacing the pipes with Vance and Hines slip-ons and add a Stage I Air Cleaner. I have been told I need to purchase a race tuner to get the bike remapped. First off, Is this $460 purchase really necessary? Secondly, would a Vance and Hines Fuelpak serve the same purpose without the high dollar purchase? What would you guys recommend. Anything will help me decide. Thank you in advance.

This should open up a can of worms.
Do a search and you'll find lots of comments on this subject.
To answer your question directly; you do NOT need to get a tuner if only doing the intake and exhaust but you WILL need to remap. A remap costs just under $200 last time I checked. The tuner is a better way to go but more costly.

Check with Jamie at FuelMoto he can set you up with a tuner for less $ and he includes future flash upgrades.

Considering doing essentially the same to my new 2010 StreetGlide but go with a D&D FatCat 2into1 and a SE stage 1 aircleaner/intake. I do not intend to race this bike and am not looking for huge performance gains and plan no internal engine work (ie cams, etc). I just want a better sound from the exhaust and a little cooler engine.
FlyingHorse states a REMAP of the ECM will be needed. I guess I understand that since I have changed the intake and outgo from factory spec and the ECM will still want to make it like factory spec, but who does the remap? And how?
