I Currently wear a ACC carbon fiber helmet that is being recalled so I'm in the market for a new non-mushroom half helmet. I've narrowed my search down to the Daytona carbon fiber or the HCI.
It looks like the HCI may have a smaller look but I'm concerned it may be another potential recall like ACC since it looks very similar.
The Daytona appears to be slightly beefier but may be a little safer and better quality.
The problem is I have never had my hands on either so I am deferring to the forum members to give me their opinions regarding comfort, quality and looks before I make the investment.
I have the Daytona and have no complaints. I have bought a few other helmets to try, but in the end it's the daytona that ends up sitting on top of my big head all day.
I have two HCI's....Both 100 series...Like them very much.I have heard good things about Daytona's but don't know first hand. Jake Wilson has return or exchange policy as do some others, worth checking into.
P.S.i wear mine 100% of the time..Feel naked without it.... :-)

Are they true to size according to their sizing chart? My head measures 21 1/2 inches which would be a medium on the chart.
I have the HCI and it is very comfortable. When I got it had to do some work on inside to make it fit. Tried on Daytona and was not comfortable. ACC helmet was the worst fit and now glad it was.
Don't care what they say about sizing every head is different
IMO never buy helmet you don't try on first or at least try it on somewhere then order.
I just bought a daytona and they are supposed to be the smallest DOT helmet available. Don't have any personal experience with HCI. If the shop had the HCI instead of the daytona, I prob would have bought it because it was available.
Plenty of padding on throughout the daytona
I'm very happy with the HCI Carbon Fiber. It's a little bigger than the ACC, but there's much more padding and the straps do a better job of keeping it in place. I didn't care for the look of the Daytona.
