Don't get me wrong, I love having it and on won't ride without one but the ones on my last two bikes were better quality. The backrest pad on this one has anywhere from 1/4 to 3/8" movement left to right on the shaft. The previous ones didn't have that. I have pulled the pin and moved the backrest all the way down and on my Road Glide with a Sundowner seat it still looks like a lollipop on a stick as Scooter Trash said. Even when I move it as far back as I can it still buckles the material in front of the flat bar in a resting position and I'm afraid it will eventually damage the seat. I know that's probably not a big deal but I just think it's not the best thing for the seat cover. I also agree that the instructions are a joke and the switch is so freaking ugly I can't believe that someone at the company actually ok'd this new design. I liked to old design way better and it at least fit better and looked like it belonged.
I just want to say that I love having it and won't ride without it but I'm just disappointed with the quality of this compared to the previous ones I've had on my other Harley's. I guess for the money I just expect more from the MoCo.
