Default Oil Pan

Has anyone pulled the oil pan on an '02 Ultra. Today I was changing out the oil filler neck for a chrome one, and one of the chrome washers somehow fell in the opening and into the oil pan. I thought about just leaving it in there, I doubt it will ever get sucked into the oil pump, but then I just can't take that chance.

the housing is aluminum and the washer is steel.....you should be able to use a magnet to get the washer out

You really should take the pan down, the washer could end up in front of the pickup and restrict oil flow. You just never know, better to be safe than sorry.

Pulled lots of them, need to pull rear wheel then all the pan bolts. If the frame cross member is bent you will need to straighten it or the pan wont come out. There are 2 springs on top of the baffle that make it a little difficult but just work it back slowly. When replacing it put some Hylomar on the pan to stick the gasket in place.
