Exclamation Smart Security System !!Help!!

I’m currently traveling and have run into a problem. The only way I can start my ’07 FLHX is to disarm the security system by utilizing the PIN code I originally put in when the bike was purchased new.

Once I get it started, run for a few minutes, and turn the ignition off, the systems re-arms and will not start unless I go through the process of utilizing the PIN code again.

The battery in the key fob reads 3.3 volts so I’m assuming that’s not the problem.

This all started after loading the bike into an enclosed trailer and putting the alarm in the “Transport Mode.” The owner’s manual states that to exit the transport mode, turn on the ignition and flip the run/off switch to run and it will automatically disarm. This is not happening.

Can someone provide any input to help resolve this problem? The nearest dealer is 300 miles away!!

Thanks….Dan

Dan,
Here is what my 2005 book says:
1: use the key fob to disarm the vehicle
2: turn ign key on
3ress and hold key fob button until confirmation is received - 3 flashes turn signals
4:turn ign key off
5ress and hold key fob button until confirmation is received - 3 flashes turn signals

Hope that helps

Two things I would try, don't know if it would work. Put the fob as close to the alarm antenna as you can. Its located under the seat on the right side. If that does't work try pulling the maxi fuse for 30 seconds. Also go thru the procedure to put it in transport mode and then take it back out. Good luck

One more thing to try would be to clean the battery contacts in the fob with a pencil eraser. A good battery & dirty contacts could act like a low battery and cause the problems you're having.

I buy my batteries on eBay. You can get 10 new Energizers for around $8.00 shipped.
