I am looking at buying a GPS that will work on the Ultra, and I can also use in the car. Any suggestions on which one to buy, any pros or cons on any models? Thanks for any help.
I've got a Zumo 550 that does both, and also has XM traffic and radio. Nice to know I can always get to where I'm going no matter how many side roads I go on.
I have a Zumo 450 that I swap back and forth between my scoot and my F150. The Zumos are designed for motorcycle use and are waterproof and built to take a beating.
If you don't want the bells and wistles then just get any gps in your price range. I had a tomtom one for 2 years and it worked fine. When I wasn't using it my girl used it in her jeep. Now I got a new garmin which was on sale cheap and that's working mint for me so far. My advise is get anything cause they all work.
I have used a Garmin Nuvi 760 for years and years....not designed for a bike though.
It has been on ATVs, sportsters/fatboys and my Ultra. Unfortunately, it crapped-to-bed the other night.
So I ordered a Zumo 660. You can take a chance and buy a 149 dollar Garmin at Best Buy. (I wanted MP3 and blue tooth phone.....so I got the 660).
I use a Garman 255W on my 08 Ultra Classic. I use a Ram Mount with quick release which holds it very stable and is easily adjustable. Several others I know have used the more inexpensive models for years with no problems. A zip lock bag can be used as an emergency rain cover in a pinch (I haven't done this but did see it once).
