have had the lizard lights on mine as well .on two different bikes ,what i found is to wash the area to be attached to with alcohol.not jack daniels but isoproyl and haven't had any problems .
De-waxed, wouldn't that be gluing all those little hairs back on the ol' lady's bikini lines? Oh crap, now I'll probably get scolded for not being serious enough.
Another one here with boogey lights, they give you an alcohol wipe to clean and dewax and then a 3m primer activitor (its clear don't see or feel it) haven't had any problems coming loose, in fact it sticks so well I worry when and if I decide to paint if I'm going to have to take paint and all.

I have Joe-Florida's lights on mine and have had no problems. Actually had one of the wire cradles hit the wrong spot on the frame and played hell getting it back off.
IMHO more lights = higher visibility = Less chance of becoming some cagers new hood ornament!!
I have had Joe Florida's lights on for about 6 months now. Put em on in winter and rode when cold...still riding in 85 degree weather. Still stuck on. The strips on the frame I put black zip ties every 8 inches or so, there's a lot of wind down there. I love em, I got multi colored and depending on where I am run different colors at night!
Just finished the 180 l.e.d. install, with remote. I didn't follow the directions. Wound up putting all of the lights around the motor. Boy is it shiny, hehe. Now I have to "address" the rest of the machine. Gonna have to call Joe back.

I owe you a beer, haha
One other question though guys:
What about the wires? Do you cover them in anything to protect from the heat or are they ok just exposed?
Thank you everyone for helping,...
