Question Back Reast

I am about to get a back rest for the 08 Ultra. Those who have put one on. Did you get the comfort stitch, (that is the same style as the 08 Ultra seat) or the smooth back. The smooth back does come in leather, the rest I think are vinyl. I am getting the non adjustable back rest. Thanks

I have the adjustable smooth back stitch on my 08 Ultra and love it. Gives me the needed back support for long trips. Got the adjustable to make it easier for the wife to get on and off but really didn't need it. We rarely move the rest forward so I am not sure if I would go that way again or not.

I got one about a month ago. It is not adjustable but still love it all the same. Can put it in or take it out quick.

I have the HD comfort stitch non-adjustable on my 08 UC. I like it in every way. I can lean it forward for the wife to get on. After I played with the adjustment a couple of times to get it where I want it, I haven't moved it since. I carry a 3/16 Allen wrench with me just in case I want to change the tilt position when I stop for gas.

I too just added one over the winter and it is a great upgrade (non adjustable) but very comfortable. I went with the streetglide/roadglide stitch to match the seat.

If you ride 2 up and your wife/girlfriend is more than 100 lbs, get a Mustang backrest. They are half as thick and 100% easier to install/remove. Just a thought.

Comfort stitch, non-adjustable here. It flips forward easily. Of all the mods, the back rest is one of the best.

I added the George Andersson Tour Pack relocation kit to gain more room for my wife.

No 08 here but I like my drivers backrest all the same.

How much room is added with the GA kit? Does it change the feel of the bike, lighter front end? I'm curious as I'd like to give her some more room but don't want to effect handling, etc.
