So when I first bought my 07 RK police it came stock with the 103". Before I rode it off the lot I had the Boarzilla 2into1 put on it. Eventually I had the cams and bored the cylinders done. the thing was a monster! Then i decided to knock the baffles out of the pipe. Loved the sound (LOUDER THAN SH*T), and lost some torque in the low end, but still had throttle left when I ran out of speedometer. After a couple of long runs where I ran wide open for hundreds of miles, I could smell my fuel running rich, and was starting to leak oil.
I talked to my buddy who is the service manager at HD in my old local shop. He said it could be expected with how hard I was running the bike. However, when I moved to my current city (the HD shop here knocked out my baffle), I found out that they never tuned my bike after they removed the baffles. Well, either I had a brain fart and didnt get my baffles back from HD, or I lost them, it was a couple years ago so I cant remember. The bottom line, I wanted to get my bike running in top form again, but no longer had the baffles to do it.
So I decided I was ready for a change instead of spending a few hundred dollars to return to a setup that I have already had. I talked to the service manager at my new HD shop, and told him i was thinking about going with Samson true dual fishtails. He said they're not optimal, but I wouldnt notice a difference in perforamance since I was running the boarzilla without baffles anyway.
almost $2k later I can tell you HE WAS REALLY, REALLY WRONG.
My bike feels like it has a restrictor plate on it. lost 8 hp. if I hadnt just spent so much money I would switch back in a second. I like the look, hate the ride. so bummed!!!
i know, i know... but like I said, the tech told me that with the baffle knocked out it would be the same. it still kicked ***, even without the baffles, I was just worried about engine damage, and after 4 years ready to change the look of the bike. Oh well. the boarzilla makes a killer ornament hanging in my living room.
I put 2into2 big radius on mine love the look love the sound lost some bottom end but it runs very well up high. Its rough to put that much money into exhaust and not be 100% satisfied. I think the looks will get old when you don't like the way it runs. Good luck.

its already old. without the baffles in my boarzilla my motor was still strong enough where I could tolerate the noticeable loss in the bottom end, because like you said, up high it would come alive.
i dont know, ive only gotten to ride it once with the new setup since I live in Oregon now and it rains every day of the year. maybe once I adjust to the new setup I'll be able to get more out of it. I hope.
