how is the riser cover not fitting? Is it contacting the bars or is it that the new risers sit too high for the cover to sit down? If its the bars you can grind some of the cover were it comes down on the sides, if you take your time it will still look clean. If its the height, make sure the riser bushings are fully seated, sometimes you have to change the top clamp to get them to fit. If you can post a pic.

Yup, the reason i ONLY use drag specialties poly bushings. Same dimensions as stock and stiffer.
Could always dremel the cover a bit, but not the correct way to fix that.

Man I cant beleive that I will need to put the old bushings back in. You would think since I had to have the carlini risers that they would come with the correct bushings. Dont really want to cut the holes cause that would not look very good on top. Anyone know what bushings I need? I want the polly ones from what I have read so dont really care to put the stock ones back on unless I have to.

Hello Airborne;

I don't think the problem are the new bushings, but maybe the new bushing washers. Here is what I suggested to another forum member having the same problem you are having and that I had;

I was in the same situation as you when I replaced my bars on my 08 RK.

I replaced the stock bushings with the poly bushings as well as the stock washers with the aluminum thicker washers that came with the poly bushings kit. Like you, my riser cover would not fit properly. I don't know if your kit came with thicker washers or just the bushings, but if it did come with thicker washers, I think that may be the problem.

For me, the problem was the thicker aftermarket washers that came with the poly bushings kit. I re used the stock washers instead of the thicker washers. That little bit of difference made everything button up properly. Basically, the bolts that hold the bar down are just a bit lower with the stock washers.

This was on a 2008 RK, so I can't speak for the specifics of your bike.

Hope this helps
