WHO Has a Security System? I need some MORE information!!
I called a lack of knowledge service manager today & got nothing so help me. I'm thinking of adding the Smart Siren to my security system on my limited. WHo has it? Like it? Loud enough? Do I need a pager & why if my alarm is already going off? Which pager do I need?
I assume all I need is the Smart Siren II # 68328-02.
MOST IMPORTANT: Is the smart Siren Plug & Play??
Back in the day, on my 07 Ultra, I did a cheap security system mod using a Radio Shack Siren plugged into the module behind the right sidecover. It worked great. It added a siren to the flashing lights that are useless. I looked behind my side cover on my 2010 and it's a totally different setup. Question: Can you still do the Radio Shack mod on a 2010??
I did find out the Radio Shack Mod is done on the left side on the 10's. But no one has said what wires go where.
Thanks for your help
And I know...the best security is your 44mag...but......
Nobody has a security system? Tin cans tied to a string is an option. I tied a string around my toe, ran it out the motel door to my bike and tied it around the wheel..sneaky! I tried bringing it in the motel room. Wife was POed because it took up her half of the bed. She slept on the floor. Hey, I've got my priorities. What else? Put cover on & sleep under the cover? Take of a wheel?
Or, Somebody tell me about your experiences with the HD smart siren.
I have the Smart Security II. Simple plug and play on my 08 FLHX. Toughest part is snapping the module into the clips/holder behind left side cover, real tight fit.. You dont need the pager but it is nice to have. I got the one you can recharge and love it.
So basically it one connection behind the side cover and thats it, that simple. No programming required.. Also be carefull of the directions, they may not be 100% acurate to your year and model, BIG Suprise right? HD directions are not that good as you prob already know..

Also, I am going to add some sort of siren to my ultra limited. Is the smart siren worth the $$? I assume all I need is the Smart Siren II # 68328-02 at $89.95 added to the factory system? Important! IS it an easy plug and play install? DO I need a pager? If so which one?
Thanks for your help

Yes you can still do the same mod on your 2010. Not sure but I think the connector is now behind the left side cover.
look up your smart siren part #. They have a install download pdf file that gives you pics and instructions. I installed the Smart siren11 on my 09 RK and it's a 'plug n play' They are not that loud so get the pager for it too. Behind the left side cover just below the fusebox you'll find a connector that's plugged into a 'dummy' slot. that is your security system plug. Actually, there's 2 wire plug ins for the security system, just to confuse you.
I add the Smart Siren II to my 2010 Ultra Mistress. It is plug & play. Watch Guy's instructions are right on. The hardest part is to snap the siren into the clip. HD's instructions are not correct. It goes on the left side and you do not have to remove anything. Just unplug the connector from it's dummy spot and into the siren. Do not forget to go through the program that turns the siren on.
