I found the HD system to be overpriced and underfeatured. I bought the ThunderPager from Aritronix (now the Scorpio from Aritronix) instead and installed it myself. Best thing I ever did was NOT buying the HD factory security system. I have so many more options and features and never need to go to the dealer for help!
What am I looking for under the left side cover and anyone know what wires go where??
Stash, do a search and type in Radio Shack 273-079 and it will bring up 2 posts, the first one shows the pictures of the factory plug, how it is stored, mounted and is quite good.
The second post is for the Radio shack siren and tells you what color wires from the radio shack siren goes into which wires of the bike. IIRC, the red goes into the brown and the black into the green wire. Do the search though to verify.
You might be right about no one cares about sirens
but I'm willing to bet that if a guy see's someone pushing a bike with the siren wailing away, he or she would call the cops.
I'd like to think that there are a lot of good folks out there that would be (at the very least) curious if they saw a bike with lights flashing and a siren screaming. Not so much for a car since we're all tired of those damn things going off.
Connector is located under left side panel, connector is at the lower left of the fuse box. Radio Shack siren has 2 wires red and black, the bike connector has 3 wires brown, green and black. Connection red from siren to brown on bike and black from siren to green on bike. Do a search there is a exellent post on how to do this mod.
