I have a 2007 Roadglide, recently the taillight just quit working, but the headlight, turn signals and brake light works. I have checked the fuses, the battery cable and all connections I can think of. I did a search here before writing this. I have a stock taillight but I have the smoked lens with the red bulb. I looked at the old bulb and the new one I just bought and they look the same, no busted filament. Anyone have any idea.
if you have a test light.take the bulb out.find a good ground on the bike and see if there is power getting to the tab where the bulb mates with.if there is,then yes it is a grounding problem at the socket.this makes sure you are getting power to the socket.be carefull with the test light and make sure you don't hit the outsides of the socket.you could blow a bike fuse or your test light.
