That's because you are "converting" the MP3 song into a standard CD style format. You want to burn the disc as a data disc and not a music disc. If you have ever made data cds that simply contain files, it is done int he same manner...except you point to the music you want. HTH.

And the player that he wants to play that cd in better be mp3 compatible or he will have wasted all that time burning the disc.

I'm glad that I am not the only one who has trouble with this. We need a tutorial!

True...

Unfortunately its the only way to get 100+ songs on the disc. Making a much CD won't allow you to have that many songs on the disc.

If the OP's player does not support playing songs in MP3 format...then he is SOL.

It sounds like you are starting off with the songs in raw CD format, which is why it won't let you burn it as a data disk.

There are many different software packages out there to do this so preparing a tutorial is impossible.

In principle, you need to:

Convert all the songs you want to burn in to MP3 format. This is more "efficient" than standard CD format

Burn those to disk as a "data" disk

I use Itunes and it is dead simple but difficult to explain. Sorry

If the music is on you computer and you have Windows Media Player it's simple to conver the music to MP3. Open the music, right click it then click on convert adio format. After you have converted the music use a slow speed in data..
