Default Yea, yea... another handlebar question

Hi all,

I have searched and read as many posts about the subject as I could find. I am still unsure...

My bike: 2010 Road King Standard; ABS and cruise control.
My goal: Eliminate the upper shoulder pain with as minimum expense as possible (I already bought a mustang seat and a backrest).

In reading the HD Forum posts I understand (correct me if I am wrong!!!) that I could go up to a 12.5" (like the Wild 1 502B 12.5" apes) without changing any wires at all. I am leaning either towards the Wild1 502B 12.5" or the Wild 1 515B 10" mini ape, but I wonder if there are other less expensive options (wild 1 are a little bit expensive) available. I am planing on installing the bars myself (I heard the internal wiring is not that hard, just time consuming). I am not sure, other than the bars, do I need to buy anything else, like raisers, clamps, etc.? I want to keep all the stock controls if possible.

Thank you
Hrod

Not sure if your bike has it but on my 07 Streetglide, they recommended changing the 2 piece clamp to the one piece.

I'd try to find a bike with the bars you're looking at and ride it if at all possible first, I have the Wild 1 12.5 bars and love them, I have an extremely bad lower back and this has solved my problem however I have a friend who has had neck surgery and they bothered him, upper shoulder pain may not decrease with these bars, you may need stock height with a better pull back, just my thoughts, if your shoulder pain increases when you raise your arms these will make it worse

Go to your local dealer & look at 56079-93, & 56569-86. Take 'em both out & hold 'em up to your bike while you're sittin' on it. The wrist angle is different so you need to see which is most comfortable for you. The cost is low & both will mount without changing cables or wiring.

I have the wild 1"s 12.5 and had to change all control cables and wiring extentions( I don't have TBW). Try Heritage softail classic bars, they have helped lots of guys and somebody can give you the info on changing cables etc.
