I saw one a guy had on his RK awhile back when I was down visiting a dealer in Washington State. If I recall, it was a quick detach using the factory mounts. It was real bare-bones, but the guy was happy with it, and he said it worked well.
Personally, I wouldn't go to ANY fairing unless I was able to make it have tunes, and I'm waaay too **** to do it half-assed.
I suppose the Kenny Day would be just fine as an relatively inexpensive way to get better protection than the stock RK screen if going without music didn't matter to me.
Looks like a throw back to the early bat wing days. My 1979 had the fairing with no backside like we have now. Worse, the windshield mounted just behind the fairing, not on it, leaving a 1/2" gap for rain to come through. Looked cool, though.
I have one I was going to put on ebay but just haven't gotten around to it. I used it on a Heritage Softail but now own an Ultra Classic. Good fairing, easy to swap out with the stock windshield. I bought the wall mount so that the windshied or fairing are safely hung on the wall when not on the bike. I ride year round as long as there's no rain or snow so it was great to have the extra protection. My only complaint was the original finish was not up to HD paint standards. At a distance it was OK, but up close you could tell it was plastic looking. I had it painted at a body shop to match HD vivid black and clearcoated. I then used a semi-flat black color on the interior of the fairing. This really improved the looks and made it look like an HD original item. Mine looks new and is still for sale if you're interested. Send me a pm.
One of these was what I wanted from the start until I realized how annal I was and wanted gauges with my tunes! So settled for Dead Center Cycles, detachable and Lockable.
Had one similar to this but from an old EG on a Honda CB200T over 30 years ago. It worked real nice and I could take the 200 just over 65 MPH on the hi-way (that was wide open too). That was a big plus back then for me going to and from work. Even put a pod over handle bars and had a radio. Was really a hoot, got razed by everybody for it. But could got over 50 mpg on that CB200T Dresser! Wish I could find a picture of that old thing to scan in an post.
Hi guys, new here, I wonder if this will work with the kennyday fairing...I bought this for my RK, it works well and sounds great, it' called MCtunes, got the jvc one with the mp3/aux jack, and it comes with a 12volt acc port. http://www.mc-tunes.com/home_flash.htm
