The ones (US & POW) that were broken off the back of my bike and left on the ground were 11x15 size.... FWIW, I do intend to replace them, and I do not feel they are a distraction.
Semper Fi!
You know after 9/11 the flags came out. It was the most show of patriotism since WW2. It was good to see Americans pull together. I don’t think flying our countries colors on are bikes is a bad thing. I got two 6X9 flags during the Laughlin run; I mounted them on my tour pack antennas. They also have yellow ribbons for support of our troops……. But anyway this is a personal choice; everyone is entitled to their own option!! That’s why we live here I guess…
I have a 6X9 and it works well. Besides showing your colors it makes my black Electra-Glide look a little different from all the other black Electra-Glides in the parking lot!
6x9s mounted on my antennas. I have a U. S. Flag on the right hand one and a POW/MIA one on the left, but with the government up to it's latest tricks I'm going to get a Gasden (Don't Tread On Me) flag for that side.
I run a 11x15 US flag always from the center of my bike (mounted to my backrest center support so it is always in the highest honor position) and when attending POW/MIA or PGR events I will put on a 11x15 military branch of the hero we are escorting to their final resting place on my right saddlebag and a 11x15 POW/MIA flag on my left saddlebag. If we are attending a non memorial event then the military branch flag is always my US Army due to that was my service branch. The only time I have not flown my US flag or service flags is when we traveled outside the US.
My wife on her heritage runs 11x15 US & USMC flags 100% of the time (except when we traveled out of the country like above)
We love seeing flags on bikes/cars/trucks/homes! If you buy good quality nylon flags that are rated for all weather (ie double stitching etc) they end up lasting quite long.

Reason: how flags are mounted
I have a pair of Rumbling Pride Saddlebag Rail mounts with 6" x 9" USA on right, state flag on left. Do highway everyday and after a year, still look great. Take them off and wash occasionally.
