Just to clarify on the Shark I mention above... it's the Series 2, weighs 1,950 grams, and is DOT certified, and the size is 61/62 or XL. I do like having the option of going full face or 3/4.

Has anyone tried one of these? http://www.motonation.com/store/pc/v...idproduct=1596

It looks like it has potential. I found a dealer in South Houston that supposedly stocks them and am considering going to take a look.

Ride Safe,
Steve R.

+1 Phurion. I love my Shark. Great fit, lightweight, and reasonably quiet. I get a few Power Ranger comments now and then.

Beautiful looking helmet! However, I ordered one online and had to return it, as it was substantially too small for my head. (I wear a 2X in a Shoei or HJC). If you're going to buy online, first find somebody that has your size and try it first!

I got my evoline, unfortunately I was sent a series 1 not 2, my head size is 22.5" and the nolans were either too big or too small, this helmet seems to fit fine, it does look pretty big on my head, but I think I will really like it when the right one gets delivered. I have had some contact with ed @ edsets, and he seems like a super nice guy, the wing guys rave about his stuff, a setup with speakers and mic is in the 200 range, but he has to update the microphone for the ultra, I will try it out once I get the helmet. I am glad everyone seems happy with the ones that fit.

Got an evoline also. Cant say enough good things about it. Took a 1750 round trip trek last week/weekend. Low noise (for a modular) pretty light and even with just 2 vents was still pretty cool. I will have to say that the S1 visor does not come down far enough as stated, but the helmet can be rotated a little to the front to alleviate this.

Oh yeah and I get the space fighter pilot comments every once in a while, but would not trade it. Now I have to see about getting the wife one.

Well I made a decision today. Picked up the wine cherry Nolan N103...Great looking helmet and well made. I have not yet rode with it but when I do I will post my opinion. I have a Crimson Red scoot and the wine cherry color is a pretty close match without the flakes though.

Shark Evoline +1 I love mine and I'm a 1/2 helmet guy for sure. I dont care for the shade shield seems a little short but it does do the job well. I only use it when it cold weather or on a long trip. I prefer a full face when traveling over 300 miles but when I get to the destinations I like to be able to take in as much of my surroundings as possible. If I wanted 100% full protection all the time I'd drive a truck.

Yea, the Shark Evoline is a great helmet. I looked at that when shopping but I wanted the Modular for the purpose of communication too. A few buddies I ride with have the chatterbox and so I am climbing aboard. I usually wear a half helmet 90% of the time. Love the wind in my face

I have never been a modular helmet guy but like I posted earlier my wife loves hers, and after reading about the Shark Evoline Absolute 2 helmet I went and put one on and really loved the versatility of it, they wanted 499 for it at the shop and you can use it as a 3/4 helmet and still DOT approved, plus I have to say that is the neatest helmet I have seen, I found it for 399 on line so broke down and bought it now just waiting to get it and try it out. That is a really sharp helmet. Thanks for the tip.
