Default Removal of fairing switch cap ??

Hello guys I have a FLHTC 2007 and I need remove the fairing cap to replace a switch. I don't want to screw it up. What is the easiest fast way to do it. This may be a stupid question but I've never removed one before.

Thanks guys Big Chris

If you don't have a sevice manual, get you one. Or find a buddy that has one you can borrow. Its pretty easy........just take out a couple screws, take the iginition switch off, and wah lah........it's off.

Big Chris - got to youtube and type HD ignition switch removal in the search bar. This guy has done a great job explaining and the tool he made is very simple and ingeniuos. I made my own from some 1/8" x 3/8" flat strap made into a "T" using his dimensions.

I just had mine off 3 times getting the Passing Lamp Mod (stay on when on high beam) done. Take the two side screws out and you can turn your handlebars right and get the switch off by depressing the tab under the left side and turning the key counterclockwise. This allow you to turn the handlebars w/o having the alignment tool however be careful not to turn the key. Some say they have done this many times but naturally I had trouble getting the switch back in so I made a tool similar to Leftcoaster's and turned the handlebars to the left to the fork lock postion and in went the switch. It's kinda scary at first but don't panic if you can't get the key to work, just get the tumblers line up.
