I am considering putting a fairing on a road king. I like the way the street glides look with the smaller wind deflector. I am 6 feet tall and i am looking for the "cool" facter, but I dont want to rattle my head too much. I read alot about wind buffeting. What is that? If I go with the small windshield am I going to rip ther glasses off my face? Thanks for your reply
I have a RK with a DCC Fairing, I had the OE windshield but too much air got around and behind it, buffeting is when the turbulent air from this occurrence moves you head all around as if there is no fixed direction to the air because there isn't. It can distort vision, cause muscle aches after long durations and in general just fatigue of the rider.
Woodies, DCC, there are a number of companies out there with all differing styles, heights, color and finish availability, I would not trade mine for another windshield but I do take it off for short jaunts and rides locally.
