2008 FLHTCU Any one else have this happen
Hi, I have an 2008 Ultra classic with a little over 6000 miles on it. It is still under warranty but I am curious if anyone else had this happen to them. It doesnt happen all the time but sometimes when i start it it idles very high ( 1300 to 1500 rpm) if i shut down and restart it will come down to 1000 to 1100 rpm even if the motor is hot. Does any one know the correct idle speed? Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks in advance for any help on this. Bill

If I remember correctly, turn the kill switch to run, then cycle the ignition switch four times on and off, allowing 10 seconds between cycles. This hopefully will reset Your Idle. As someone else mentioned allow the bike to come to full idle before shutting it down to advoid high idle.

Dionicio is 100% correct. I have a 2008 FLHTCU as well and experienced the same problem and received the on and off four times method from the local HD mechanic I use, as well as one of the local Indy's that I use from time to time.
