Memorize and practice the procedure for disarming the security system using the turn signal buttons in case you lose the key fob. If you don't have one, get a backrest. Small container of insect repellent, don't want to die from blood loss while waiting for a tow in the event of a flat or breakdown...
If you don't already have Soo's floorboard extenders for rider and passenger and RJS Originals heat deflectors, get'em. They will drastically increase your comfort level!
Just got done with a 5000 mile ride with two buddies and I agree 10 riders will never be able to stay together. I would have to recommend that every third bike have a gps or at least agree on where you will meet. I wouldn't make any reservations in advance because then you will be tied down to that location and that may not be where you want to be at the end of the day. We left Knoxville and went south to the coast and then west to Bakersfield Ca. then north to Seattle. Ran almost no interstate roads till I got to Sacramento. Gps works very well for running the back roads. When my wife and I travel we carry a small cooler in her tour pack and fill it with hotel ice in the morning then we have ice all day. Works very good. Alerting the credit card company is a good idea also. You can't have enough tools with either. Make sure someone knows how to use them though. I bought some Frogg Togg rain gear for this last trip and am very happy with them. You are going to be a lot smarter after this trip. Would love to here your opinions when you get back.
With ten bikes, split up the items, everybody don't need to bring
everything. Except maybe the Crown, bring lots of Crown
And if anybody does show up with Viagra, a butt plug is required.
All great suggestions. I know this was just added but I'll reiterate a seamingly small suggestion - bycilclist padded riding shorts. Absolutely can't be beat on a long ride especially when hot. 2 - It will rain and it could be a cold rain. What we improvised that worked great although somewhat colorful - brown cotton jersy gloves under platex dishwashing gloves (yellow!). I can tell you when it's 50 degrees and raining for the next 200 miles this works!
With 10 guys it will be like herding cats. anyone with a cb set up - buy a cb headset for $40 from freeridemotosports to communicate back and forth. this can be used with or without a helmet.
Bring along a lot of patience. There will be issues.
have a great trip.
You might want to get a couple of rolls of quarters for the laundry, worked out good for me.A small first aid kit,a couple of band-aids, gauge, and some tape.I also carry them green flouresent light sticks for night time breakdown.Let someone at home know what routes or roughly where you intend to if something would come up.Have a great trip and be safe.
