Hey Guys, getting ready to take a trip next week from Missouri to Arizona with about 10 other guys (about 3300 miles). This will be the longest trip I have ever taken and it will be done in about 8 days. I have an Airhawk seat cushion, rainsuit, GPS, and luggage, any suggestions on things that I might not be thinking about? BTW, I have an 09 EG Classic.
Toolkit, phone charger, sunscreen, chapstik, a drink holder you can reach while riding, hand sanitizer, Zoxx (or some other treatment/cleaner for your glasses), and a hat.
MP3 player or burn a bunch of MP3 CD's. Make sure your air shocks are pumped up appropriately with your bike loaded. Throw a cheap pair of sunglasses and a cheap pair of clear safety glasses in your lowers as spares - if your primary pair(s) break or go MIA. Have a plastic bag handy to cover your GPS if it rains (if it's not waterproof). Also, make sure you pack a pair of sneakers or real comfortable shoes to wear in the evening. A couple good cigars are also recommended, although not required.
Remember size matters, and this time smaller is better!
Purchase salesmen sizes of anti-biotic cream, eye-wash solution in case you get road grit in the eyes, sunscreen in a roll-on works best (imo), used set of sparkplugs that you just took out, re-gap and have with just in case. Anything you carry, place in a zip-lock bag!
