I just completed a major upgrade on my 95ci FLHT. I started off by just planning to check my cam chain tensioners..I only had 25000 miles on them and thought I should at least check them out..Pic enclosed
they were worn excessively and the job grew from there. After checking prices on replacement tensioners I decided to do the camchain upgrade to hydraulic kit. I bought this from Herko ( a great guy) with tw26n cams ..new lifters..SE adj pushrods and heads done by J precision in Quebec ..cc'd to 82 ..deck height of 0 and 9.6cr corrected to 9.04ccr overall. see pic..
Replacing the inner B148 bearings was a breeze with this puller I bought from a Beatty on harleytechtalk.. pic enclosed
Ok..I gotta go..work is calling... any questions..just ask..
Well, that is a familier story. Sorta the same with me. I decided to have the tensioners replaced which led to the hydraulic kit, which led to the 95 ci bore upgrade and cam change to the SE 203's. All this around 26K miles. I've got a lot more power now and plenty of torque when riding two up. My GF notices that the bike accelerates with no hesitation now.
