Alright, so i decided to purchase a King Tour Pack to add onto my 2010 Street Glide. Im not too fond of it other than on long trips to keep the wife from complaining, so for the most part it will barely be on the bike. I may not care for the thing but i am for damn sure not wanting to scratch it up - how do those that have a detachable tour pack store it in your garage? My mother-in-laws boyfriend just throws his on a top shelf, but its also for a early 90's Road King that looks like it is early 80's. Im trying to keep mine nice. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
I set mine on a furniture pad on the garage floor - but it's usually on the bike. If it were stored a lot, I'd use a large cardboard box and a furniture pad.
Tex, that is a cool idea, is the rod rebar, and the cover PVC? Wheels are turning, thanks for the idea.
The rods are just a Threaded Rod covered with either an aluminum tube or a Hot Water PVC pipe.
I saw where a guy on here covered his with plastic tubing. I just tried to get as close to the size as I could.
I took the luggage rack in with me and tried everything I could think of for fitment, this seems to work.
