Default Scala G4 question

Any experienced users out there?

Mounted mine and, in general, delighted with it.

When playing music from my Iphone Ipod via bluetooth connection and can just about burst my eardrums, but when taking a call I can not get the volume high enough to hear clearly

Any suggestions?

Not to sound like a smarta$$ but do you have the volume up on your phone. I had the same problem at first but had to raise the volume of the phone while in a conversation to raise the volume for bluetooth output. I love it except for I get a crackle when ever the wife talks and vise versa let me know if that works as I am also curious.

You were right to be a smart a$$ as I was being a dumb *** - kind of...

The volume was set down, but...

What I have now found is that you cannot set volume up when you plug the charger that I am using in (Griffin) so need to set volume first then plug in charger. I assumed that it would set a default volume. Much better now thanks

Havent experience cackle yet but then I havent used the device much yet either, about to go on tour so i will experiment with that in anger

Hello Guys, I have been debating the G4 unit for a few months, glad you have posted somethings. Are you running the G4 Multi-system, meaning 2 G4 headsets. I been trying to decide which way to go. 2 G4's ; 1 G4 & 1 Q2 or just buy the Q2 multiset. Several options, and mixtures, just can't decide whivh way to go. Any Insight would be appreciated.
Thanks

I am only running single at this stage but will be linking up with a mate when we tour next week.

I chose the G4 as the bluetooth functionality is far superior to the Q2, especially when linked up to the Iphone. I now have satnav (TomTom app), Ipod and phone all on a single device. I doubt I will use the phone while riding but it is a good option to have and now and again if I need to make a quick call I can pull up and not have to take all my gear off.

There is a great comparison table on their website

The Q2 and G4 communicate perfectly well with each other

Default I was thinking about 1 each

I think I would go with 1 each of the G4 and Q2 units. Put the G4 on me and let the passenger or another bike use the Q2 unit. My Sony Head unit has the A2DP functionality and can send stereo via bluetooth to the G4, the Q2's are only mono so the passenger would have to be wired to ipod or similar to have mono music

I'd also like to get in on the Q&A. My buddy and I are wanting to get the Team Set. The literatur eI've been reading leads me to think the the two sets can be linked together for bike to bike AND rider to passenger at the same time. So, total of 4 people communicating on the 2 sets. Is this correct?

Been using the G4 for some time now. For music they are just okay IMHO as there is little bass but all the the helmet headsets are like that.

Only the Q2 and G4 allow bike to bike. Q2 is 3 users while the G4 is 4 user (2 bikes + 2 passengers). The Q2 is a band aid use for 3, it's more a 2 user system as only the main unit can talk to the other two.

The G4 may be the better system for as it will do what your need. *Update, just got done pairing four G4's and it works great! With the 4 units set up, all 4 units can talk with each other with no further button pushing being needed.
