Road king 5 speed transmission
I have a 1999 Road King with a stock 5 speed transmission. Does anyone know, if I remove the transmission completely, will a 6 speed transmission from an 2008 bolt in directly, case and all, or are they different cases?

Interesting question. I can't answer about the case itself (although I'd assume it's different somewhat), but I know the clutch pack/ring gear/primary gear are different so I would guess that the trans input shaft is also different. Similar to how the engine crank output shaft is different for the compensator assembly to bolt up to. I know the primary housing is different, probably due to the differences in the clutch pack and compensator set up.
All that to say I don't know if the case is the same, but the guts and all that go along with it are most likely different. Is a SE 6 speed gearset or a Baker not an option?
