the HD tranny gearset will slide out the right side of the case once the clutch, primary etc are removed.
if the case needs to come out ( like it is cracked) then it;s a bigger job.
but servicing/replacing the gears and shifting mechanism is not hard
this would be the time to look at a 6 speed gearset
Baker drivetrain or Jims are the premium names - avoid imported stuff
do not ever use air impact tools on the clutch hub not ( left hand thread) as it can destroy the shifting mechanism in the tranny
don;t use air impacts on the compensator nut- can destroy the stator
