Default Cruise Control enable

I've installed cruise on my 09 EG Classic and I'm wondering if it has to be take to the dealer to be activated?I have the service manual but there is no mention of it in there.I've heard that there is directions of how to do it in the Electrical Diagnostic Manual, which I don't have.
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks Dan.

As far as I know the dealer will have to enable it in the ecm with their magic tools.

Installed CC after I bought my 08 RK and had to take it to the dealer to enable it. I think they charged me one hour labor.

From the directions with the cruise control kit for '08 and newer Touring models:

Functionality of this kit will require a
verification that cruise

control has been set to "ENABLED" in the vehicle's electronic
control module (ECM).This verification can ONLY be performed
by a factory-trained technician at a Harley-Davidson dealer,
using the most recent version of the DIGITAL TECHNICIAN

®
II computer-based diagnostic software package.

The directions say you have to verify that the cruise is enabled. I just got done putting an oil pressure gauge, oil temp gauge, radio, cruise control and Krome Works handlebars on my 09 FLHT Standard. (Also ran all the wires inside the bars.) When I had the fairing off there are a million stickers in there and one of them just had printed on it "ABS, Cruise, Radio". The sticker wasn't on any wires, just stuck inside the fairing. My bike had ABS, but no cruise or radio. Just got done with a test ride and everything worked. The radio fired right up and the cruise control works fine. You don't need to take it to the dealer to "verify" if it works, just try it out. Fortunately, it looks like my ECM was already programmed for the radio and cruise control.

I took it in to the dealer yesterday and had it enabled. They treated me great.
The CC works fantastic,it's smooth and very accurate,I'm impressed.Did about 100 miles of highway riding yesterday afternoon checking it out.I'm a happy camper.

It may end up being one of those processes using the turn signal buttons.
