1st I did not read all the posts, but this has to have been said
The moco was required to install the cat, if you want the 103 cu in to perform you are going to have to open up the intake and exhaust, and then have the computer reloaded.
Mine was done last week and this thing is a beast compared to my 2005 88 cu in softail.
Most will not believe this but with the wife on the back IT WILL PULL THE FRONT WHEEL.
In addition to the performance enhancement, it now runs nice and cool. Cool enough that I put my lower gaurds back on, the heat from the engine before was killing me. That cat is ridiculous, but they had no choice. Luckly for now we do it justs cost $$$.
I have noticed a huge drop in power also when riding two up and on a semi- hot day.
This is a disgusting problem!! having several harleys prior , this is a bad thing to me at least.
I am planning to pull the cat off also and would love to know what all has to be done to the air cleaner , best pipes, remapping , etc. and looking for a rough estimate cost. I do not believe the dealers will help at all. i have a 2010 limited ultra The dealer says try not to let it idle too long and don't ride in the city at slow speeds!!!
Yea right !!! some help that was!!!! kinda pissed off in milwaukee. Any advice welcome?

Again, I guess I'm lucky. Rode 450 miles Sunday 2-up in 90+ degrees and didn't notice any loss of power. And I have to ride at slow speeds and idle for long periods of time, with my previous posting the only problem.
I have noticed a similiar problem with my '08 ultra. If I ride for long periods (1 hour +) in temps above 85-90*, I lose significant power, and in some cases the oil pressure goes down more than I'm comfortable with.
I do very little stop-and-go driving, so this is all in touring situations. I just returned from a 3k mile trip and it happened on the 2nd day. I did find that if I add octane booster to the fuel, it reduces or eliminated the problem, including the reduced oil pressure issue.
I also own a 2010 Ultra Limited. My muffler on the right side started turning gold. The dealer replaced muffler, but said Harley wouldn't replace it again if it happened. They first tried telling me that it wasn't show quality chrome. I told them for the price, it should be. After reading all the articles on here I cut the cat out and bought the Jackpot dyno tuned mufflers. This is a very simple task to do. I would advice anyone with this problem to get that cat out of there as soon as possible to relieve the heat issues.
Mike, Thanks for posting, i also own the 2010 limited and have heat related power issues!!! It sounds like what you did worked for you.
So if i pull the cat out and get theseJackpot dyno tuned mufflers, is that it?
What about the air cleaner?
Can you advise, and thank you ( a lot) Bill
I'm having a stroke and looking for a place to stop if I get to 240*
Damn, me too! Mine has only hit 230° a few times in three summers and normally runs no more than 205° in hot weather as long as I'm moving. I'm running 14.5:1 in the cruise range, too, with the option to switch to a richer map when extra cooling is needed, but I almost never need to do that. If I were FLS2FLH I would get an oil cooler pronto!

Problem is, oil cooler comes with the Ultra Limited. It's there already.
So, I've got all the Stage 1 goodies from Fuelmoto, a headpipe sans CAT - and I still measured an oil temp of 271 yesterday right after jumping off the highway with the handy dandy dipstick thermometer.

I'm going to continue to watch this thread closely. I don't really feel like dropping $2G for new headpipes, slipons, AC and remapping if that's not going to solve the heat issue. And with no Oil temp gauge, I have no idea what my oil temp's getting up to. Of course, since I got the extended warranty, I might just keep on keeping on!

You might want to pop for the oil temp dipstick... just as a frame of reference. PN 63004-09 is the chrome one. Was around $115 with shipping from Zanotti

I've thought about it, but I'm not really sure what good it would do me. If I get stuck in bumper-to-bumper rush hour traffic in Atlanta, there's not much I could do about soaring oil temps. Getting to the breakdown lane would be an adventure, and just sitting there letting it cool off is liable to get me run over. Sometime ignorance is bliss!
