Problem with power when hot 2010 FLHTK
Send an oil sample there and a check for $22.50, and they'll tell you if the heat is doing any damage to your engine.
There is a very good article on here that tells you how to remove the cat. All I did was remove the headpipe. On the end where the muffler connects, take a stick and put in in the pipe until it stops. That is the start of the cat. Now measure 5 inches. That is where the cat stops. Now cut a hole about 2 1\2 x 5 inches in that section. I did my cutting on the bottom edge and bent it up so when I welded it back together you couldn't tell it had anything done to it. To remove the cat use an air chisel. It works the best and quickest. (around 30 minutes) I ran stock mufflers for about a week or so till my Jackpots arrived. I did check on the Screaming Eagle air cleaner. It's around $130.00 then the Harley shop wanted me to buy the Screaming Eagle race tuner which is about $460.00 then to have it mapped was around $360.00. I'm just going to wait and have Speed Performance do my cams, power commander, and dyno it for around $2400.00

It sounds like you still have a ways to go then ?
But with the updates are you still going to go with the other items that you mentioned? I was assuming that your in good shape now with what you have done or is it going to cost another $2,400.00
Sorry if i am misunderstanding your points here , But thanks for the reply,
Bill
Wondering here if your dealer said anything warranty wise as to what you have already done?
I am quit sure most people who purshased this bike are going to want something done as well.
Personally i know that heat can be the enemy and i will do what needs to be done as you have. Guess we will sit back and watch others play the game by trying to get the Motor company along with the dealer to even ever admitt this is going to be a problem thats going to have to be addressed by them at some point. I know its the EPA causing us all this grief but i wish harley would have made the pipes out of rusty scrap metal so they could rebate us to solve this problem. Well be well and thank again for any updates , Bill
Changed the oil yesterday and will send it to Blackstone once the collection kit arrives.
I also contacted Fuelmoto and asked Keith if I could try the fuel map which was developed for their 2-1-2 header. (Remember - I just swapped my cat out to a HD '09 header w/o cat). Keith agreed and sent me the map instantly.
The ambient air tems yesterday were in the high 80's to low 90's. I took a 20 mile ride with the 'original' map and pulled back into the driveway with an oil temp of 255.
I loaded the new map and took the same 20 mile ride - identical traffic conditions (light) and returned to an oil temp of 242.
I'm experiencing some popping on decel now, but its not terrible. I also feel the throttle response has improved with the new map - especially around 2500 RPM where there was a slight flat spot prior. I need to ride it a bit more and would like to perhaps understand what can be done to allieveate the popping a bit.
It's a work in progress...

There is always the UltraCoolFL - looks good but it is expensive.
I'm not adverse to turning on an oil cooler fan manually when needed, so the HD oil cooler fan might be a cost effective way to have add'l cooling capabilty when required.
