Default Problem with power when hot 2010 FLHTK

Does any one have this problem with a drop in power when the engine gets hot? Or is it my imagination? Had a 1990 FLHTCU prior and had no problems with the power. Let me know. Thanks.

Yanked the headpipe with Cat off and put on the FuelMoto headpipe. The bike runs 25 degrees cooler and the power is great now.

Get the wrench out and get the BS cat out of there!!!

Mine has that problem. I got about 5K on it now, has done it since new. When the engine get's hot, it loses power (and being in Texas doesn't help). It's at the dealer today. They dynoed it and saw a loss of power when it gets hot. Said they think a temp/map sensor may be bad. Bike gets hot enough that the right slip-on is blue/yellow where it connects to the cat and turning yellow on the tip. Dealer finally agreed there is a problem.

It would seem that as air temperature increases, density decreases which would impact volumetric efficiency. May get to the point that the engine just can't move enough air.

My 2010 RG does. Once the oil temp gets to around 230-240 in traffic the bike will stumble off the line. I put a PVC and new exhaust on (no cat) and it still does it. My 09, 07, and 06 didn't do this.

Let us know what you find.

No problems here with about 3K miles. I'm in Florida, bike has stage 1 air.

Dealer called after lunch. Said MOCO told them a few bikes had restriction issues in the cat or the slip-on. Sat they were trying the cat first. If it doesn't do it - then the muffler. If it still does it, then ordering the map/temp sensor.
Told them to get it back to me by tomorrow either fixed or not -I'm leaving for Ruidoso, NM on Friday.

Looks like my convertor was restricted. They dynoed before and after replacing and it picked up about 5 ft lbs tq.
Goig on a trip tomorrow, so after a couple thousand miles, I'll be able to tell if the cat replacement helped.
