Default Help me pick out a seat

Hello Dennis here i'm pretty new to the forum, I was wondering if someone could help me in picking out a comfortable seat for my newly acuired 06 road king classic I'm about 6 feet tall 260 lbs I had the original seat on for a while then went to a Harley reach seat, I have a pretty short inseam 30 inches I don't know if seats need to be broken in, but it's not very comfortable. (I know the obvious loose weight) but thats problebly not going to happen!! So I am wondering if anybody has experianced the same problem I can't afford to keep purchasing new seats I don't mind spending decent $$ for the right seat. And I do hope to do some fairly serious touring not crazy but 4 or 5 hrs at a time, any input would be really appreciated. Thanks Dennis, and to all ride safe

Sundowner on my last bike, a 2005 RKC. Loved it (5'10 275 w/32 inseam) I could ride all day no problems.

I chose a Mustang seat for my Road King Classic but if I had it to do again, I would probably buy a Sundowner.

I wanted to buy a Corbin last year, but the price kept putting me off. I'd sat in them, and all the guys I ride with locally that have them swear by them, but I figured I could get a seat just as comfortable, for less money. So, on the advice of some forum members, I bought a Mustang. I'd never sat in one, but lots of guys seem to love them, so I took a chance. I can't say I hated it, but I sure didn't love it. Sold it to another forum member, and bought a Corbin. I'm a fairly big guy (6', 220lbs), and firm padding and robust construction is a must.

Corbin seats seem overly firm at first to some guys. They take a couple of months to properly break in, but once they do, they are fitted to your shape. I can tell right away when I sit on my bike that it's my bike.

I like my Mustang seat, but a seat is like a pair of shoes the only one that can decide what comfortable is you, I have spent a fortune on seats over the years trying to get the right ones for my bikes, I've found the average is 4 per bike to get the right one.
