I just traded in my 2001 Road King Classic for a 2010 Ultra two weeks ago. I first tried the Mustang and it was not a good fit for me on this bike. It tilted my hips enough to make it uncomfortable so I returned it. I own a Mustang seat that I had on an
FLSTS (First Harley I ever owned) and it is a great seat. SO I then purchased a
Corbin Dual Tour, which I still own, and it too is a great seat. My wife on the other had did not care for it. She is 5'-10" and needed to be positioned higher up to be comfortable. So I purchased a Sundowner for two up riding, which I still own. I am 6'-0" 32" inseam 208 Lbs. This seat is OK. I felt to far forward but it was a good compromise for two up riding. The
Corbin was defiantly my number one choice.
So why do I have all these seats left over. Simple, the dealer does not care what seat is on the bike when you trade it in land I just need to get around to selling them.
The lesson I learned was one brand did not fit all. It boiled down to the specific bike. While I had a great experience with the Mustang on my
FLSTS that brand did not work well for me on the Road King. I am pretty sure the 1997-2005 year fit cycle for the Road King seat would be a whole different experience with the next generation fitment.
