Default Starter removal

I have to pull the primary to get a new belt on and I'm wondering if I have to pull the pipes to get the starter bolts out. Or is there another way to pull those two bolts out for the inner primay to come off? It's an 01 rk with stock pipes!

Try an extension, or an extension & a universal joint. That should get the bolts out, but not sure you can maneuver the starter around the pipe............

If you can finagle an allen wrench in there it will work. However, those bolts are on there tight and you would have a hard time turning the allen. Best way is to get the crossover pipe out of the way and use a long extension with allen head on a ratchet.

He only needs to remove the bolts to remove the primary, not pulling the starter out.
