Thinking of moving up to an Ultra from an FLHR and would like to hear from those who've made to move. Or, from those who've gone the other direction. Cheers!

Made the move many years ago. No regrets. Was hesitant at first. But never looked back. Go for it. Hey, if you really don't like it, you can always go back.

i left my RK 4 years ago and no regrets. I loved my RK but i'm a "batwing" guy definitivly. Try a ultra to be sure is the best solution for you i think
Doing the same here, sold the fhlr-i and wanting maybe a standard or a glide, my big thing is either sticking with the evo motor or a twin cam. But that is a whole different discussion.
had a 2007 flhr. Minted it out to my spects. absolutely loved it. very recently went to an ultra. This ultra is just that . ITS THE ULTIMATE. absolutely no regrets, and i can't even afford it, and I don't even do alot of touring. You are making the right move. the 2010 ride is alot harder, but it is way more luxurious and aerodynamic, and no, its not an old bastard's bike. I feel like I am living large, (and way over my head,) but who know what tommorow will bring. Right now I'm living it up. I'd look alot cooler on a big racked out chopper, but if you are going to ride, whatever your style do it confortably. Riding with tunes is also a different type of riding.. The first time jumping on the throttle on the highway, the Who was blasting, followed by Pink Floyd. Sent shivers down my spine. There is nothing like it. Best of luck
I added a fairing to the King, almost a Ultra but not quite. I like the Batwing, less air, less buffet but I also like being able to open air slow rides.
Wen't from FXDX to Ultra prob would mot have done it, but the wife just could'nt get comfortable on the FX. Yes I like the Ultra very much have always seem'ed to be on tourer's but hey thats life.Pull the lowers off after winter and try to rember ir's not a sport's bike!
