I think im going with the harley stuff..now looking at everything...
Since my dad already has intercom he cant put another unit in/on helmet and still use his bike intercom so im talking him in getting a CB...

Ill buy the radio/cb attach on ebay along with the harness and like you ultra will get both those half the cost then I'll buy the 77108-09 setup and headsets and antenna for a total of about 900 bucks plus 37.50 to flash head unit.

plus riding in groups I can talk to more people than just one other bike so it will work out...

for the scala Ive heard nothin but good things about and would have been $600 for the B2b and one extra headset for my passenger

Chatterbox XBi-2

Passenger to passenger Bike to Bike

I have had very good results using their products and easy to install and rechargable batteries last for ever.

Yes the 70169-06 is the correct harness to get. Do not be fooled and get the 70164-06. It does not provide all of the connections.

You can add the CB without adding the Intercom kit. You will just need the Rider connection only. I have a Road Glide so all of the other parts are already on my Harley. IE Hand Controls, Speaker Switch. The Communication Switch Kit 77173-08 has all of the parts needed for the rider to use the CB. I am adding the Intercom, but like the headset connection on the dash. I found the Gas Tank dash with the Rider Headset connection on eBay. So I will be selling the Rider connections when I finish. If you go this way, all you need is the Non Ultra Wiring harness, CB, and the antenna for your Harley. And the CB comes in three updated models. You can tell from the letter at the end of the part number. Look for the number 76416-06C. You will find a lot of CB models that are older models that the sellers will say is the newest.

And if you are going to add the Intercom, you want the 77108-09 Intercom Kit. Not the 76107-09 Intercom Kit. The second kit is for use for just the Intercom.
Also for information, there is not any instruction sheet included with the harness. Any instructions that is needed is included with the Intercom kit.

One thing more. If you get the Intercom, you will also need the Download P/N 76441-06/DT from the Dealer. But the CB does not require a Download. If you install the CB Only. There is not a Download needed to make it work. And the Download for the Fader is a "No Cost" Download from Harley. If a dealer tries to charge for the Fader Download, they are trying to cheat you.

If you have any questions, ask and I will try to help.

I tried the "cheap" route for B2B communications and finally gave up. Use the H-D or J&M CBs. The J&M CB is waterproof and works well. The H-D setup is the best since you can use the same buttons as you use for other radio controls (volume, channels, etc.). Neither is cheap.

Ditto.

I've had people call me while I was riding, and all it takes is a loud "Hello" to get the Scala headset to answer the phone. Pretty nifty.

Mainly, though, my wife and I can communicate better when we ride separately. It's saved each of us a time or two because one of us had the ability to warn the other. On the other hand, I've had to ask my wife to not talk so much. I love her, but when I'm riding I don't want her jabbering on the entire time.

Don't forget that this antenna kit is for mounting on the Tour Pak. If you use this kit and make the Tour Pak Detachable, you will loose the CB antenna.
The bigest pain is running the wires under the Fuel Tank.
