I believe that my axle nut is on the right side. Not sure if this makes a difference. 2010 touring model

The one in the link keeps things from moving after the nut has been torqued. I've not had any problem holding the nut, my problem is things moving after they've been torqued down. I think the 120' motor has a little to do with that.

I think everything has been covered on the procedure of belt tensioning etc, with the cams on tourers ,,,,
As mentioned , a second person , (or the jims tool), to hold the left axle nut while torqueing the right nut to 25 fp is very helpful ..
When this is done , and you have the correct belt tension, (as per the manual), you are now ready to do the final torque …

With the second person holding the left axle nut , I torque right axle nut to 50 fp,, telling the second person when I am going to start , so they are ready, and can put slight force, (in the opposite direction), on their wrench holding the left axle nut ,, so there are no jerking movements that may move the cams etc..... Then STOP.... Change torque value to 80fp.....

Repeat above for 80 fp ,, and then for final torque of 100 - 105fp....

I find this gradual torqueing to 100- 105 fp works for me ,, especially if you are doing the job by yourself ……

Positive Stop Axle Adjuster

Rob

Yeah, I like this as well. Going to have to try it next wheel removal.
