Is this a great seat, all day if need be?
I am looking for a good seat, kinda like the looks of a solo, (then get the pillion for the wife,, also is that a comfortable pillion?)
I have looked at Mustangs, ect... really hate to be one of those who buy 5 seats before I find the right one! LOL I may not be as picky as some of you either, who knows,,,
I know after a 240 mi day I was a little sore on the stock seat, I KNOW the wife wouldn't last that long on it,,
Also all over the place I am seeing things listed as "08+ and up" DOES AN 08 seat fit right onto the 09 and 10? If so why? I thought the difference was because of the new frame? Which 08 does not have of course.....

I had one on my 09 road king classic. Looked great but on long runs, I had alot of the tail bone burn....I even had a sheepskin on it...I am 6'tall and around 210 lbs....I went over to a mustang with backrest and the same sheepskin and am happy....On my last bike I had a corbin and loved it (got it used and cheap) but cant see spending that much money these days.
Ive had my dg for 2 years now, frome md. to daytone and 1800 mile 2 weeks ago. no numbness here. looks cool too. I have a " Butty Buddy" stick on for my wife and she rode to daytona as well w/ no problems. untill she seen the road rashed lady at the pool and decided to fly home.
I have a solo DG Speed Cradle on my RKC and just love it. Dropped me down and forward just right. So far only ride it to and from work (60m), and short rides (50m). But so far I think it will be good on longer rides. Gonna try and make the run to Arkansas this summer (550m) that should be the ride to tell me if it's going to stay on the bike. All this work is ruining my riding!
I've got the Danny Gray Big Seat Solo without gel. I like the looks but after about 200 miles.....well....I'd like more padding. I'm 6' 220lbs.
I'm either going to get this seat worked on or buy a HD Sundowner Big Cushion. The seats are easy to change. So maybe swap seats to fit the ride?
But I do like the looks of the DG seat!
Well two of you who thought it was not the best, (for long hauls) seem to out weigh me by 40-50 lbs. (I am 5'9" and have gotten down to about 175 from 189)
Maybe it will work out for me, guess maybe I will be one of those guys who has to try two or three to find the right one. Or at least get it tweeked to work better if I am unhappy with it....
call danny gray. there is a woman there, forgot her name, who will go over everything with you and make a recommendation for the seat for you. i thought i wanted a buttcrack solo, but after talking with her, ended up with the speed cradle. the buttcrack solo is more like the corbin hollywood solo, looks good, but not for the long haul. the speed cradle has more back support built in, but if you are tall, its not the seat for you.
give them a call, find out what seat you need, get the drag specialties number, then order it from zanotti's.... my speed cradle came out to $235 shipped.
