BTW; I did have a 21 originally on my softail and the 16 handles better. The only time that the 21 handled better was turning the handlebars to get going after you were stoped, more friction and effort to make the desired move from a stop, but after that all 16 baby...
Why can't a guy ask a question without some hothead getting all excited. I am simply asking opinions, and that is all I expect to get in return. One guy's opinion is going to vary from the next. That is why this is a "forum". Thanks for the replies. Just trying to see why people prefer one over the other.
I'm not bashing or name calling, but I am an adult and don't have to resort to such things to be big and tough over the internet...I gave an opinion, but let me spell it out for you since you aren't too big on reading comprehension...if you consider riding 600 miles or more in a day "barhopping" then you are correct, those of us who have the 21/23 are only capable of barhopping and not "touring"...
As far as the hairnet and top button comments...you're an idiot...do society a favor and get a vasectomy...

"do what you want and don't worry about what everybody else is doing to their rides!" - wasn't a comment or an opinion. It was an FU to those giving opinions for which the OP asked for.
As far as the idiot, you only have as far as the mirror to go to find one.

I did not bash or get excited, I gave an opinion, which is that a 21 works just fine for touring and going fast and does not have any limitations given how hard I push it. My problem with this "forum" is that if you start asking about bigger rims, flashy paint, etc., it becomes a way to start disparaging certain demographics, i.e., that would look great in the "hood" or that's cool if you're into "ghetto baggers"...I don't think that's productive and I don't believe it is necessary. I don't care what you ride, how you ride, or what your ride looks like, that's your perrogative...just ride...something! That's what this should be about. I hope you are as tough on the guy insinuating I wear a hairnet and long sleeved shirt w/only the top button buttoned...so what if I do, does that make me less knowledgeable or worthy?

OK, the hairnet and shirt comment was taking it too far.

Thank you, that's what got me all fired up...and I suppose I know what I meant, but maybe it didn't come across the monitor...allow me to try again...
I currently run a 21/18 setup and have not had any issues at all. I have ridden my bike over 1,000 miles in a weekend, ridden speeds well over 125 mph, through the Grapevine (lots of twisties) and my Glide has never made me feel like it would let me down. There are quite a few of my buddies who ride with 21/18 combos and we ride hard without any problems.
