Automatic Volume Help?
I have a 2005 FLHTI with an older Biketronics kit... it was on there when I bought it... problem is somehow I activated the AVC, and I HATE it... I have been unable to deactivate it or reach Biketronics support... It is a Sony GT-CDX400... any ideas? I did it somehow through the handlebar controls...

Just got this from the service manual:

simply change the display by pressing the appropriate

4. To ramp the AVC up, press the Mode Select Switch on
the right handlebar in an upward direction (UP). To ramp
the AVC down, press the switch in a downward direction
(DN). Although the factory presets the volume level at
number “2,” it is adjustable from “0” (AVC least aggressive)
to “4” (AVC most aggressive). Any adjustment
affects the AVC schedules of both headset and external
speakers.

push the handlebar volume button in for 2 seconds then push volume button up or down quickly......it will change avc from several different settings to off......or disconnect your battery for one second or more and the avc turns off

Some of these replys are for HD radios.
For the Biketronics radio, turn the radio on, press in and hold the volume button for at least ten seconds. If you let go now and wait a couple of seconds the AVC will be off. The AVC is easily adjusted by immediately after releasing the the volume button pushing the volume button up. Each time you push it up you'll get a different AVC setting. The more times you push it up, the more radical the volume change will be. The factory setting is 3 pushes up and I think the max is 5 up. There is NO display on the radio. Play with a little and I think you'll come to like having AVC.
